Our recent webinar was a resounding success, featuring Mr. Wilcox Jenje as our esteemed guest speaker. With extensive expertise in project management and monitoring & evaluation, he has successfully led initiatives for renowned organizations, including PEPFAR, UNAIDS, UNWOMEN, UNICEF, the World Bank, MCF, the European Union, Italian Cooperation, USAID, and the US Embassy.
Mr. Jenje provided valuable insights on career exploration, defining it as the process of identifying a profession that aligns with one’s personality, interests, and skills (citing Indeed, 2024). He emphasized how career exploration enables individuals to recognize their strengths, passions, and potential career opportunities through self-assessment, research and networking, and experiential learning.
Sharing his personal journey, he spoke about beginning as a volunteer in the humanitarian sector, where hands-on training shaped his career path and provided invaluable learning experiences. He stressed the importance of goal-setting in navigating one’s professional trajectory.
Furthermore, Mr. Jenje outlined various roles within Project Management, from junior positions like project assistants and coordinators to leadership roles such as project managers, team leaders, and directors. He also explored Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) careers, covering positions like M&E Officers, Specialists, Analysts, Managers, and Consultants, highlighting the significance of data-driven decision-making in these fields.
